BS in Computer Science at UNC-CH vs Computer Engineering (Honors) at Purdue West Lafayette

I’m an international transfer student selected into Computer Engineering at Purdue along with their Honors program. I have also got an admit to UNC Chapel Hill’s CS program.

Solely in terms of the quality of education, prestige, and the people I will get to meet and interact with, which university is better (even if by just a small margin)?

The freshman acceptance rate of Purdue is 60% while UNC’s is half that. I’m leaning towards UNC but it is still hard to let go of that Honors program at Purdue. Also, I’ve got into CS at UNC while I applied and got into CE at Purdue as they aren’t offering CS to transfer students for Fall 2019.

Thanks in advance!

CE and CS are very different. Rather than deciding which has more prestige, you should decide if you want to work with hardware.

I equally like both CS and CE.
My current major is Computer Science and Engineering, and I study both CS and CE courses here.
Whatever I learn, I wish to learn it in the best possible environment.
My only concern hence is which place is better in terms of quality of education, recognition, and prestige.

Prestige means nothing if you can’t study what you want.

The overall acceptance rate at Purdue has nothing to do with the acceptance rates for CS or engineering.

a simple answer to your question since you are worried about “prestige” is UNC is far far more “prestigious” as an institution of higher learning no doubt about it but there is more to college decisions than that.
