BS/MA or BS/BA [Law School]

Hey Everyone!

I’m about to finish my sophomore year of college and I have a 3.981 GPA (1 damn A-) and I’m hoping to get into Yale Law School (ambitious, I know). I’m currently double majoring in Economics and Philosophy, but I was told by the head of the Economics Department that I could get into the Masters Program (and graduate within the 4 years). The problem is, if I do the BS/ MA (it’s of the arts for some reason), I have to drop my philosophy major. I know Law Schools look at GPA and LSAT heavily, but I also know they look for maturity. Ultimately I guess my question is, would a Masters degree make me more marketable for a Top 6 law school? I could also finish the double major and get an MA in 5 years (with winter classes) but it’s not my most favorable option. What do you guys think?

TL;DR
Does a BS/MA look better on a law school application than a BS/BA?

Degrees or grades completed after you finish your first bachelors are not considered for la school GPA. Obtaining a Masters degree will not help your cause.

You would be better served using those two years to gain work experience

Law schools won’t care what your undergrad major was in. Phil/Econ or just Econ, it’s all the same to them. They also definitely do not care about maturity.

Seconded as to the work experience.

Do whatever results in the highest undergrad grades, and get at least a year of work experience. I wouldn’t bother with anything that conflicts with those two goals.
