To all students who got accepted to one or more BS/MD Programs: What do you think set your application apart from the rest and what trends have you noticed in regards to how much these programs weigh each aspect of your application?
If you look at your target schools for BS/MD programs, their BS/MD page should have an accepted applicants statistics page. Most of them require a minimum GPA and ACT or SAT, so aside from that, I would say experience in medicine and ECs involving medicine.
You should review the posts in multiple degree sections. Every year there are 2 threads created, one for discussion (which normally will have 200+ pages of posts) and second for posts related to stats and reflection from students who got accepted/rejected/accepted but decided not to join) which is small with only 10-20 students only posting after the May 1st deadline.
But those threads will give a good feel for it. There is no black and white answer or exact rubric with % etc.,
GPA and Test scores must be good to start, but more important is how they demonstrate their passion and knowledge/dedication to medicine profession already either via research or volunteer activities related to medicine/under served populations or essays.
