***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

@thebrainyone Which Vanderbilt scholarship did you get? Did you get into the Pitt GAP program?

@thebrainyone, sorry to hear about the rejection. Your stats are very impressive. That is why someone told me that there is a big element of luck in BS/MD admissions. One just does not know that the Admissions Officers look for. Obviously not just test scores and GPA.

@TheBombingRange I think you think I posted something else. I’m in state haha. I interviewed on Valentine’s Day

I got into SLU Medical Scholars. Understand that this is not guaranteed and that many do not get to go to Medical school. Was wondering if anyone has any opinions on this.

@TheBombingRange, my stats are similar, but that is a insane amount of volunteer hours lol

That is where I devote myself, and I’m proud of it.

One of my friends got a letter in the mail for Stony Brook Honors College yesterday so interview notifications should be arriving soon

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

Congratulations everyone for receiving admission to at least one BS/MD program. Your journey to medical school will begin soon. Most important maintain your GPA, begin studying for MCAT early and althought not required do meaningful clinical volunteer and look for research experience as well.

Wondering if anyone in the forum has applied for the Howard’s BS/MD program. If yes, has anyone rec’d interview notification?

@fromtoronto Howard requires you to commit to them and then has interviews in like June or July…

@sanguinee: Preprofessional admissions office give mixed information. Sometimes they say that the applications are currently being assessed and the decisions will be made within 1-2 weeks. Sometimes, you are right they say decision wil be made in June-July for interview notifications. Confused :(

I was on the engineering chat last night for Stony Brook. They interview 20 kids for both Engineering and regulars Scholars for Medicine and choose 20. There are 3 kids in engineering in total, 1 this year. If you applied to ESFM, you will not be transferred into the applicant pool for SFM. I am not feeling to good about Stony Brook, they are my top choice and I gave them an awesome essay, but I don’t I would make it 1/20 interviewed, especially for the engineering pool.

@fromtoronto Howard is such an unorganized university with a terribly unhelpful staff/faculty. The person who is in charge of the program is nearly impossible to get a hold of and is incredibly rude. I hope you’re right and they make decisions before making you commit.

Uconn medical program class of 17/21!

Congrats egyprince! I’m super excited, just got the letter that my application was passed to Stony Brooks’s med school.

I wish you the best! I know its your top choice

email or snail mail?

i received a letter in the mail

has anyone heard from union/amc or rpi/amc (besides those who heard last week)?

yeah i got my “still under consideration” today
