I just got an e-mail from GWU for SBU about the interview so you should check your e-mails! Also I remember Dr. Knowles saying that the notifications will be released during the week of 2/4/13 (this week), so give them until Friday to get back to you.

@msxkjp. thanks for the info. No email yet. When is your interview scheduled?

@KLM: Any luck?

@KLM123 Mine is scheduled for 2/25 but from what Dr. Knowles said GWU only offers one “main” date and one alternate date 2/22 for interviews. And I hope you hear back favorably!

Rejected SBU/GW :’( there goes my #1

@butterfli- does that mean that everyone who hasn’t already gotten their emails got rejected?!?

Congrats to everyone who has been invited for interviews!! Has anyone gone to an interview for VCU and could give some insight into your experience?

I actually interviewed 1/29 (i think… or was it the 30th). Basically it’s going to be you and 4 other people at the interview. You’re going to congregate at the VCU Honors dorm (make sure you enter the right entrance not the physics one - that’s what I did). From there, it’s as mentioned… they take you into another room, explain the program, 3 speakers, then leave you with 3 students to answer questions and tour the honors dorm.

Now for the important part. Half will stay for the undergraduate interviews between Mrs. Conolly or Mrs. Homer. The other half will go on a tour of the campus with a student. The groups switch and then you head out to lunch. Personally, my undergraduate interview was the typical interview - challenges you faced, stressful moments, why VCU, why doctor - for about 35-40 minutes, then they call in your parents for any additional questions they have.

They VCU Medical school interview is pretty much a similar format except every student gets a different interviewer (a doctor at the school). Some of the questions were quite similar and they do acknowledge that. (SIDENOTE: All interviewers are provided with a packet of questions and they do note your answers do NOT let this intimidate you.) Personally, my med school interview went better than my undergrad, in my opinion, and there were only a few questions that truly differed from the undergrad interview.

Don’t stress. Prep. Be yourself and you should be fine.

Thank you so much for your help!! Also, this may be a stupid question, but do your parents come with you to the tour and luncheon as well?

@crystalglaciers Yup! They come in for the last 10 minutes of each interview and are pretty much allowed to be there the whole time. Though it is parental attendance optional.

what university is UMSI?
