I should have applied to Toledo lol… That is awesome. I guess it’s not that popular of a program…

It’s actually pretty popular, i got my rejection letter saying that there were hundreds and hundreds of applications

To toledo? I never heard of it before this forum…

dang did only one person on the thread get the WashU program interview? Congrats @sunitacarmen that’s awesome!

Wash U is always insane - the kids they get are always ridiculously qualified so its sort of a lottery if you do or do not get it because they’ve never explained what exactly they look for.

WashU med school qualifying is set at such a high threshold (3.8, 36) that you could probably apply directly to med school and get in with those numbers.

@desigirl you have a good chance at Toledo if you have done your interview well. They want to allott 50% of the seats to women

Thank u nbk!

@desigirl SGU is foreign and residency programs are trying to totally cut out foreign medical graduates from residencies in the future so I would stick with a US med school program

@sanguinee The last two years of SGU are in the US… if that affects anything?
@(Iforgetwhosaidit) From what I could decipher, NJIT will give you the degree after the first year of med school. If so, does this mean only specifically SGU or just any medical school?

Does anyone know the overall policy of using AP Scores to skip a year of college?

@butterfli

have you received an email from drexel regarding an interview? i also got an interview but was only notified through the undergraduate college so i was wondering if you got official notification yet

did everyone have to pay for the $150 drexel supplemental application fee when you applied?

@archi2
no i didn’t get anything from drexel yet what undergrads did you get notifications from?
and i did pay the fee

@drtechy that doesn’t make any difference… you’re still considered a foreign medical graduate to residency programs.

It is good that the NJIT/SGU program lets you apply out. I would rather go there and have a seat than not go into a program at all and be stuck with literally nothing. Something is always better than nothing.

@butterfli123

rosemont! what about you?

Hi All,

Just a note of caution. Do rank US med school entrance higher than any Caribb schools. Starting 2015, both US DO schools and US MD schools will compete for residency spots. Total residency spots are not increasing but these positions are basically opening up to DO students as well. Therefore, the chances of IMGs (from Carib schools) matching to these spots will be highly unlikely.

In other words, the order of procuring residencies, it’s US MD schools > US DO schools > Caribb schools

Just wondering guys, how much does an interview actually count? I know that it’s great if you get an interview, because it means you got qualified as finalists and have to compete amongst a lower competition pool, but exactly how much is this interview weighted in the end? Is it like other ivy leagues, where the interview counts somewhat, but at the end of the day the admissions officers really look at all your academics and essays and that’s what makes the most impact at the very end? Or is it like they’ve already reviewed all the stuff like that, and now your personality is what gets you through?

Yeah @Pharm said what i was trying to say.

Has anyone actually got an interview for Union/AMC or RPI/AMC? I got denied for interview yesterday…

And who all got an interview for the Case PPSP?
