***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

@NKB747. I haven’t seen any financial aid numbers yet, but I am at least getting the $15,000 per year RPI medalist award scholarship…

@patrickstarr
Stats: 33 ACT, 4.51 GPA, rank 1/130, year of research, volunteering with kids, national level in music, sports and in scholastic competitions, lots of shadowing doctors…

Sbmhhs, did u interview at Sophie?

@sbm but if you go Sophie, they only have a 70% pass rate on the USMLE Step 1 exam. Id rather mess up on the MCAT than mess up on my medical licensing exam…
And what time were you there yesterday?

Where is the thread of the person who heard from Siena?? I want to see, I interviewed Feb 8.

She posted in the results 2013 page

@bombingrange here is the thread:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/multiple-degree-programs/1451896-bs-md-results-class-2013-a-2.html#post15568443

@ Bombingrange: My interview was at 3:30. I just feel that since in these programs, the MCAT determines whether or not we get the MD degree, I would much rather get into the program’s medical school without much hassle and stress. I just don’t want to be kicked out of the program and waste my time that way, so when there are these non-MCAT programs available, it seems to me that those non-MCAT programs are the better choice. That’s just my opinion.

I agree with that, but as I’ve said before, you have to get into more than one program in order to have a choice. I do like NJMS’s approach- you take it, but you can get whatever you want, it doesn’t determine admission.

@Medgirl123
I got into RPI/AMC too! I’m so happy. I’m looking forward to finding out who else got in!

@DoctorJJWho, when did you interview at AMC?

@patrickstarr
Friday, February 2nd. At the info session before the interview, we were told there were going to be several batches of acceptances letters going out, to accommodate for the different interview dates.

The USMLE is definitely a more fair test than the MCAT, definitely not easier though.

@DoctorJJWho Congrats! I’m sure you are as ecstatic as I am! :)

Results from my interviews:

Union/AMC: Strange interviewer with strange questions, wasn’t wowed
BU: Nice interviewers, good showing
GW: Didn’t like at all, but my interview went well
Miami: Wonderful experience, great interviews, a real contender in my books
Jefferson: Good interview, nice med school, not a big fan of philly
Northwestern: Phenomenal undergrad and med school, good interviews, ideal location
Drexel: was offered interview, turned it down
Rochester: was offered interview, turned it down
Pittsburgh: interviewing this week
Alabama: rejected, never would go there anyway

Still waiting on Rice/Baylor for a response.
