Is it hard to maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA at u toledo bioengineering? I just need that and no mcat… So it’s guaranteed admission… But does anyone know?

cant you switch to premed instead and still maintain your direct admission?

@fallpsat, i dont think so. ugh im really hoping for umkc…!!! we should all wait for our top choices…at least until end march and beginning of april.

Looks like there are restrictions in place for transfer.

@FalconN10, congratulations

How did you find out your saint bonnaventure to george washington admission? email or snail mail or online?

Got accepted at temple scholars and slu too . Rejected interview at drexel.
@ sashay … Temple med school is ranked much higher than drexel and now has surpassed Thomas Jefferson too. Free undergrad education seems too good to pass. Are you seriously considering temple

@klm123 thanks, dr knowles sent out an email

Villanova was mailed out!

@mistryse13- did you already get your Villanova letter?

Nope I’m guessing ill get it in a day or two

@desigirl : First of all congratulations on your acceptance into U.Toledo BS/MD and good luck for UMKC. By the way, my son is also in the same boat like you. He got acceptance into BS/MD at U.Toledo and he is also waiting for UMKC interview result.

Maintaining a 3.5 at U.Toledo in BioEngg is not that difficult as we understand from the current students at the university.

Why are you more interested in UMKC than U.Toledo?
Is it because of BioEngineering or Residency opportunities better at UMKC than U.Toledo?

My son is also more interested in UMKC due to the reason that U.Toledo is BioEngg.

@all, can anyone tell me, is it good if we choose UMKC (6 years BA/MD) or U.Toledo (8 years BS/MD with bioengg)? We are little bit confused.

@pgans u tedo has better residencies… I’m jus wondering what r ur sons stats?

So 3.5 is not that hard to maintain bioengineering… Do u know any students there?

We attended U.Toledo experience day on Feb 9th last month and got a chance to speak to couple of current BS/MD students. They say it is not that difficult. They mentioned BioTransport was one subject which gave them tough time. However they maintained 3.5. One girl is entering Medical school this coming August I think. She completed BioE in four years with some AP Credits.

My son’s stats 33 ACT, 4.2 weighted GPA with lot of APs, and has research exp too and several other clubs, medical exp, shadowing, service hours in volunteering etc…etc…

He is also counting on UMKC. He got SLU BS/MD too.(SLU is early assurance program)

I have got admitted into 2 BS/MD programs but have also got a full-ride scholarship in my local in-state college. Was looking for opinions on the options.
Thanks in advance

@desigirl : What is your main concern about U.Toledo? Why UMKC is your top choice? please help me understanding.

@tinkerbell13 : I think you should choose one of the 2 bs/md programs keeping in mind how competitive it is becoming year by year. If you want a straight track to MD, I think you may opt for BS/MD. By the way, what schools you got bs/md?

@pgans what do you mean straight track to med school? How would denying a program give you a straight track?

@TheBombingRange: I meant “Straight Track” ==> BS/MD. I vote for BS/MD. That is what I meant.

I agree, go for the med program. unless its out of the country
