@IMGDAD, Sorry to hear aboot Drew/NJMS. how was your son notified by Drew, email or snail mail?

@docstudent, my son received the email from Drew this morning.

how many get invited for Penn State/Jefferson interview?

Has anyone been interviewed for the BU med program yet? What was it like? I love BU, and I haven’t gotten a phone call about an interview yet but I know they call until Feb so I’m still hopeful!
@artiesoneleg1 from what I know, around 100 (give or take) get invited to the interview and everyone has the interview on the same exact day! Best of luck!

Got invited for an interview with TCNJ (the 1st step before they forward to NJMS if it goes well) next week. I read some people on this board already went through this process - could you please share some advice?

Many thanks in advance.

@Oooops: Congrats! The TCNJ interview went pretty well. Dr. Shevlin conducts all the interviews personally, and he’s a really nice guy. You can tell he’s really passionate about the program. The interview itself is straightforward: why medicine, greatest challenge, talk about your extracurriculars, why you chose your specific major, why TCNJ. Though for why TCNJ he spent a longer time trying to portray how awesome the school is than I did, as he agreed with and expanded upon every point I brought up. I had my interview over a month ago so I may be forgetting some specifics but if you go through this thread you should be able to find more info about the interview. Good luck!

@DreamAway: I think the first interview for BU is actually tomorrow. A current BU SMED student mentioned that earlier on this thread. The last interview is February 21st so you still have time to be notified. Best of luck :)

@Oooops: I’m quoting myself from earlier on this thread: “Just had my TCNJ interview. Dr. Shevlin, who does the interviews, is super nice. It was just why medicine, why BS/MD, and he talked about extracurriculars for some time. Everything was straightforward and flowed well. He said interviews will continue until February, so I guess some people won’t hear for a few weeks whether they have an interview at TCNJ yet. Good luck guys!”

starlight - you are awesome! Many thanks for your reply. Hopefully my interview will go as smoothly as yours.

@starlight27 thanks so much for the info! Good luck with your interviews, I hope they go well:) And from the sound of it, it looks like Dr. Shevlin really liked you!!!

Rejected from all three AMC programs :(

Just received an interview notification for the Villanova/Drexel program at DUCOM!

@thejerseygirl, Congratulations on getting the interview from DUCOM! I like to know if they indicated this in your DUCOM portal also. Thanks.

Finally some good fortune, interview for Nova/Drexel! Didn’t see any notification anywhere else except through e-mail.

I haven’t found a change in the Villanova Portal, only a notification through e-mail.

Anyone knows about uc riverside medical school admissions? I read the website. I am a little confused. They say they take upto 24 ucr undergrads. They also have a thomas haider program at ucr medical school now. Apparently it is like a 8 year BS MD program? Not sure when you get to secure a seat in medical school though. Apparently it allows up to 24 too. So when they say they take up to 24 ucr undergrads they mean 24 from thomas haider program? Don’t know how to get selected into thomas haider program. Plus they seem to say that they like people from inland empire area and underrepresented. We are asian indian. uc riverside is ranked low compared other ucs. So like to know the chances of getting into ucr medical school if we join ucr undergrad. At least if we can get a higher GPA it might help to try other med schools i guess. Student will have a tough decision to make if he/she gets in uc berkeley and looking at this program. Anyways thanks a lot for your thoughts.

@color - sorry to hear about the rejections but we all know how that feels. Hopefully you have other excellent options.

For those of you applying through Villanova - we were just there this weekend and we had not visited before. It is a NICE school. Very clean, spacious, pretty - very comfortable feel. Need to do 100 community service hours there no matter what your major is - thought that was awesome. Drexel accepts a lot of students through these affiliates - apparently 15 from Muhlenberg are accepted. Good luck!

when do drexel medical notifications come out??? like for interview

Good luck everyone!

@Ooops- Of course! Good luck :D

@DreamAway- haha thanks! And anytime :)

@coloredenigma- Sorry to hear that. Good luck with your other programs! BTW, how did you find out that you were rejected from RPI? I hear that they are still in the process of sending out interview notifications.

@thejerseygirl and FrozenShardz- CONGRATS!! That’s awesome. Good luck to you both at the DUCOM interview. Is the interview on February 1st?

Sorry not enough privileges to respond to private messages. Have not heard of email notification but my daughter’s school quarantines all emails so there is always a time lag of at least a day. Am guessing Cincinnati portal updates as the admission office posts so status will remain the same with past date until there is a new post. Best of luck.
