*** BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2014***

was it mass email?? I thought they were releasing later on Feb 10th

Rejected for GW interview for SBU/GW program

I’m sorry ;(

This may not seem like an honorable thing to do but for those of you interested in GW should see this: <a href=“George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington_University_Medical_School</a>

The medical school was the first in 15 years to be placed on probation in 2008 and it was lifted in 2010 when the school showed a plan to fix it. To me that doesn’t mean the issues were fixed yet.

I know, this is not a nice way but maybe those rejected might not feel so bad now. But you should know where your future time and money investment is going.

@Midhelper, not that my son expected he would get into GW, but with one less option, he has just called me telling me that he would like to go to the interview at UMKC and Texas Tech, if he is still eligible for the Texas Tech program due to impending change of our Texas residence status. My son has contacted the medical school about this and is waiting for the reply.

@collegeponderer, @IMGDAD, and @Coloredenigma- So sorry to hear about the rejections. :(

@IMGDAD- Best of luck to your son. I hope they allow him to attend Texas Tech if he gets in!

@IMGDAD I am glad to hear he is working through all of his options. Is there a way you can rent a cheap place or some way to keep a Texas residence for him at least?

Many already have a foreign language unless we are discussing several as opposed to one.

@Midhelper, thank you. I am working temporarily to help a cancer center in Tulsa to set up a new program. I have only signed a six-month contract and aim to plan to the Northeast in July. The present cancer center is trying to ask me sign a long term contract and is volunteering to pay for a place in Texas for us to keep our Texas resident so that my son, if offered the place at Texas Tech, could go there and we can be persuaded to stay in Oklahoma to be near to my son. I have turned down the offer because I do not feel that this strategy is fair to the other Texas applicants, if our Texas residence is maintained through an unfair way.

@IMGDAD I get it and it sounds fair but you did pay into the Texas taxes for all those years which makes him eligible to benefit from the program.

^ ditto

Offered an interview at GW after interviewing at SBU! Interview is on Monday, the 24th! Anybody else attending on that day?

IMGDAD - please do ask how residency works if you move after the admission.

@samelsawaf, congrats!

@texaspg, we are waiting for the reply. If we do not get a reply, it means that Tech does not want to address the issue and that means my son will be eligible.

@samelsawaf- Congrats! Good luck at the interview :)

anyone have Albany interview feedback???

Yeah, does anyone have any info on the albany interviews?

1 of 40 selected for a UT-PACT interview! Yay!

@brown4college14, congrats! I am not surprised, judging from what you previously posted of your accomplishments. What was a big surprise to me, however, is that you did not get FAME. Good luck and PACT is much better than FAME!
