My daughter is interested in medical career. However, she likes to explore herself little wider before being specialized in MD study. PLME program at Brown seems to fit her interests. Anyone knows of similar BS/MD programs? We'd appreciate your input.

Most of the programs intent on a broader education in undergrad are the most selective ones. Among them are Rice/Baylor, Northwestern HPME (is usually 7 years but has an 8 year option), URochester REMS, USC Bacc/MD, Case Western PPSP.

^SDN doesn’t have a lot of users knowledgeable about the specifics of BS/MD programs. The Multiple Degree forum on CC will get you much better information.

^Yeah, but it’s still a fun website to visit.

I’d steer clear of 6 - 7 year programs as they tend to have a lower rate of enrichment (i.e. the 3 years of undergrad are more focused on pre-med requirements than on majoring in a field of interest).

Rice University, UMDNJ-Rutgers/Montclair, Brown University, and I believe Temple University all have BS-MD programs.

I believe that’s a pretty indepth listing of 8/7 year med programs with links and descriptions of each.

Thank you very much for your inputs.
