BS/MD program

Hello! I'm trying to choose colleges and I needed some help.
If anyone knows about a college in the U.S. that has a BS/MD program which doesn't require students to take the MCAT, please notify me.

Thanks.

there's a lot . . . take a look around this forum and you'll find several.

http://www.medicalhelpnet.com/content/view/28/46/

this site rox.. use it

Thanx a bunch!!!

that site's a little outdated though . . . I wish they'd update it!

Does NJIT require MCAT?

I don't think it does. It's a D.O. program though, but that might make it easier to get in.

http://catalog.njit.edu/undergraduate/frontmatter/specialprograms.php

The above site mentions:

Accelerated Programs in Law, Medicine, Dentistry or Optometry

Students may apply for a special accelerated joint degree program and pursue the BS/JD (law), BA / JD (law), BS/MD (medicine), BA/MD (medicine), BS/DMD (dentistry), BS/DDS (dentistry) or BS / OD (optometry).

Students applying for these programs must first apply to, and be accepted by, the Albert Dorman Honors College. Further information may be obtained in the section of the catalog about the Honors College.

But there is no indication of whether the MCAT is required.

if you're really interested, ask for the catalog about the honors college, like they say.

Yea I will, but I was just wondering if anyone knew beforehand. lol

tsk dont be lazy :D

Going back to my main topic, does anyone else know colleges that don't require MCAT? (especially those in new york or around there). I've found only 2 or 3.

The information would be extremely helpful.

Neha89,
The best way to thoroughly research that is to get a pretty comprehensive list, either from that site or google aamc and bs/md and you'll get a list then print it out and google each school every time a school doesn't meet one of your absolute criteria - i.e. you're from NY and they only take Texas residents cross it off. That's what I did, that way you see all the programs, up to date facts on requiring the MCAT/gpa etc. These things can change every couple years. And lastly you also start to learn more about the programs and can narrow down which ones to apply to that actually fit your needs & wants.

is drexel's prog. ba/bs/md or just bs/md?

for the drexel program, you have to take the MCAT (idk if its a ba/bs/md program)

yeah i know that.....i'm just lost on the ba/bs part
