BS/MD Programs?

What are some good programs? Preferably near California

They are all very good, very competitve, programs. You have to have SAT scores of 1500+, do volunteering and/or research.

These sorts of programs are highly competitive and look for students who have already demonstrated interest in the medical field.

I don’t know of any near CA, but ones I have heard of include Brown, Northwestern and BU.

Are there ones that aren’t considered as competitive as others?

I don’t think so…med school is med school

@erica18 Yes, there are wide variations in the desirability and therefore competitiveness of the programs. I’m just starting to research myself, but search BS/MD here on CC and you will see lots of threads, some results threads etc. that will give you some places to start researching.

I’m compiling some info for my kid, so if I find a good list, I’ll let you know.

@erica18 here is the “monster” thread for many of the BS/MD programs. You’ll have to take some time to scan it, but they mention the process and stats for a bunch of these programs.

Here’s a more centralized list. I don’t know how complete it is.

They are all competitive, but clearly some are “super” competitive while others the occasional mere mortal seems to get into.
