Hello! I am really interested in applying to a BS/MD school. I am a junior and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to build up my resume. Thanks!
for bs md programs, they require you (or at least highly recommend) to volunteer at hospitals or take part in science research internships, as well as physician shadowing. The other things on your resume should show that you are passionate about the health field/helping others and that you show leadership and competitiveness. Also, participating in sports is a good thing to put on your resume, especially if it is varsity level, recognized in the state level, or if you are team captain. Do you have any specific hobbies or skills that you are good at and received recognition for? If so, that would also boost your resume and you could write about them in your essay. Everything on your resume should relate to each other in some way; putting random honors and activities on your resume will make you seem superficial.
hope this helped in some way
Demonstrated interest in the field of medicine.
@CakeTaru I am not involved in sports but I am a violinist. I have been to All-States for my state and I am the concert master for my school orchestra. Also, I have not done much hospital volunteering but I have been doing some science research internship and I have a variety of leadership roles. In my essay, I wrote about being sick and struggling with that disease. Do you think that’s good?
Thanks!
