BS Reputations / Sophomores

I know this was posted on another thread, but there were no replies so I decided to make a new one.

What are the reputations of boarding schools?

..the best? (I know this is a matter of opinion, but I mean tiers and SAT scores. The HYPSM matriculation has already been posted on another thread.)

...the preppiest?

...the smartest?

...hardest to get into?

...sports (mainly soccer, tennis, swimming, dance)

...extracurriculars? (debate, Model UN, Model WHO, etc)

...most / least community?

...most / least freedom?

...need-blind? need-based?

...known for giving the most / least financial aid?

etc.

Please post on that stuff too… im sure it would be really helpful to boarderkid (and me as well) =)

Are you truly trying to discern how various boarding schools are perceived or are you attempting to compile a list of schools to apply to? If it’s the former, by all means, continue, you might receive some interesting replies (though your sample will be a bit skewed). If it’s the latter, this is not going to be overly useful. And quite a bit of this you could find with a little research. In particular, sports, extracurriculars, FA info, and acceptance rates are on many schools’ websites. Boarding School Review allows sorting by a number of categories. If you’re compiling a list, the only useful categories are the community and freedom sections.
