I just saw a thread where this outstanding student posted a chances thread and someone responded, "your grades are awesome, but you totally messed up senior year (one B+)..."

This freaked me out! I have consistently had a B or B+ in every semester of high school math, all of which were honors or AP's... (all A's and A+'s in everything else)

So my point is, is someone basically screwed if she has a few B's on an otherwise perfect transcript?

I mean, every other aspect of my app is great....clubs, leadership, sports, volutneering, SAT's, rec's etc....

If its the only think that's not amazing on your application, it won't hurt you as much. But to be honest, getting a B in every semester of math brings your gpa down a lot. I've got 3 B's in high school, and I feel like that is way to much.
But unless you are gonna change those B's somehow, don't worry about it. Little things don't make or break an application. The application is taken as a whole, so its all the little things added up.

How bad is getting 3 B's look? I got one B in English, one in Anatomy/phys, and one in AP Calc in 12th grade. :( Since we are on block schedule colleges will see my B+ in calc. :(

If your rank/GPA is good and if your taking a demanding courseload, it's much easier to forgive Bs. If the rest of your application is up to par, a B or two (or three) won't keep you out. There's nothing you can do to reverse the Bs from previous years, so don't dwell on them- it's pointless to worry now. As for Bs in current classes, work hard and continue to do your best- what you get is what you get; life will go on.
