BS University Studies, Mays Business School

My son is considering switching to the major under Mays Business called ‘BS University Studies’… is anyone familiar with that program at TAMU?

I didn’t think you could graduate with University Studies degrees anymore. Did you look at current info? Maybe I’m thinking of the wrong major, but I think this is the ‘holding tank’ for when you switch majors now to enable you to do pre-reqs. It use to be a major where you dabbled in a few majors to create your own personal degree. Maybe I’m wrong???

General Studies is considered the “Transition Academic Programs”

I know of a graduate from that major a couple of years ago, she is doing fine and got a job in retail management. The courses you take are not in the mainstream of Mays. They separate out non-majors into different business courses - you are not considered “majoring” in Business, so you are not allowed to take those courses. It is considered a less competitive route to get a degree. If you minor in business, you also enroll in those same courses. So it is really like having 3 minors and no major.

You can take the same business courses as any major at A&M. As a US Business major, I think you are only allowed to take business courses for non-majors. I would consider a true major and doing a business minor.
