BS vs BA in Chemistry

I’m looking to get a BA in chemistry, this is NOT for med school and i am looking to get a job directly out of University. The difference between the two degrees at my school is that the BS takes physical chemistry and BA takes more upper division chemistry electives. What i’m looking for are people with actual experience in the workforce who can tell me if either matters in an entry level position.

If i want the BS i have to take another year of college just to take 9 staggered credits just to satisfy the degree over a BA, would this extra work be more beneficial to me than getting ahead with a year of lab experience at a job? I know questions like this are difficult, but anyone with real experience or anecdotal advice can help me with my decision. Thank you.

I had a 30-year career as a chemist with a BA in chemistry. I was happy with the work I got (in analytical laboratories).

The biology courses I took instead of further physical chemistry ended up being of more utility in doing my jobs.

It’s worth doing a search of the forum for previous threads on this subject; it has been addressed before.
