Well I'm basically stuck between the two. They seem the most practical for me in terms of education and money. And with the scholarship from Indiana, the tuition is approximately the same (unless Urbana gives me a scholarship).

Either way, I've made a visit to Urbana this past summer and loved it there despite the near 90 degree weather and also chatted with an Admissions Counselor at the CoB. It seemed like a good fit. I have yet to make a trip to Indiana and plan to soon.. but I was just curious to see if there were any major differences between the two schools.

So... yeah. :) Please and thank you
Pros and cons of Urbana's BUS?
Pros and cons of Kelley?

I'm a finance major at Illinois and I def like it here. One of my friends goes to Indiana and he says it's cool there too. However, if you decide to switch then illinois is your best bet as our overall rankings are good in a lot of different fields.

they're both good...go with the one you think you would enjoy living in for four years. rank doesn't mean anything if you hate the area you're living in for four years and end up messing up your grades because you're so depressed about your surroundings.

none of the environments the schools provide are detestable. therefore, i agree with arpster55, if u want to transfer to, lets say, engineering, then obviously, uiuc is a better choice, more well-rounded in all areas.

Thanks everyone. I was pretty much thinking along the same lines. People have told me that IU's campus is beautiful. I will most likely make a visit before deciding. :)

I got lots of friends with the same problem... however all of them decided to come to UIUC, because of smarter students overall (engineering students can screw the curve in your Calculus classes), more well rounded school, better national ranking, harder to get in

my accounting teacher talked alot about this. They say kelley is ranked 1 spot higher because of the one of their departments being a little bit better ranked. However, from every source ive questioned, the business program at U of I has much better internship setups with multiple big-name companies. The specifics i do not know but my guess is that if you want a better chance at really getting the experience and ability to really pursue the busniess field, UIUC is the way to go

i was looking at undergrad business school rankings on businessweek and IU was significantly higher up because it had an A+ in job placement after college, where UIUC had a C+. but as muzloh said, uiuc has more connections with big companies and stuff, so this doesn't really make sense to me.

to me this is one of the most important categories. can i really trust those rankings? IU seems to be ranked higher on other lists too, maybe for other reasons. anyway, im a junior but next year ill probably be deciding between these two schools. any other advice or comments?

hmm the job placement grade for UIUC is so low compared to IU. i wonder why.

i think the in-state numbers at UIUC are so much higher that for a student from Illinois, networking with students, families and businesses in Illinois (aka Chicago and its suburbs) would be easier than at IU. idk...
