Good school? Worth the money? Worth leaving public school for? Any information would be appreciated

A year and a half later, someone replies. Boston University Academy offers the motivated high-school kid mind-blowing opportunity. Yes, if you’re up for it, it’s worth leaving your public H.S. for BUA. It may be worth leaving your private H.S.

It’s not for everyone but definitely worth a look.

For the most part, anyone looking at BUA should also look at Commonwealth-- there’s a lot of overlap in the students they attract.

Our friend’s son is a junior at BUA and absolutely loves it. He is a gifted math student and the chance to take college math courses at BU (for free) as a junior is what works for him. He works hard and is very happy there. He is surrounded by like-minded kids. BUA is a great choice for an academically talented student who needs “extra” offerings to keep him engaged. It will not be the typical high school experience that some students may want, so take that into account, but definitely check it out if you think it will work for your child.
