I have a job, too.
2 week summer program at BU (summer challenge) last summer, from which I managed to get two additional recommendations, one from a professor and one from a grad student.

Random things to note about my school: AP classes are available only to juniors and seniors, and the amount of AP classes is really quite limited. The average for the highest-achieving students in my school is about three APs a year. I’ve had a few Bs throughout my high school career, mostly in the math and science areas.

My guidance counselor told me that my chances at BU are pretty good, but considering the cost of BU, I’m kind of wondering HOW good they are because I figure being in the higher end of the applicant pool = $$$.

Guidance told me BC would be a reach, but I’m wondering if it’s a near reach or a far reach.

Help would be appreciated. I’m somewhat new to this college confidential biz. :)

I’m no expert, buy I’m not sure why BC would be a reach…your Math/CR are right at the 50%, and your writing is at the 75%.

BC - high match/match (I’d say in)
BU - match (in - 90%)

BU in. BC is probably a slight reach. No one at our school (last year) got in unless they had over a 2100. Best of luck!
