BU and UW

i was admitted to cgs at BU, and i know i want to either be a journalist or doctor (i know, they’re totally different). UW has a good premed/medical school and COM is great for communications, so i’m really conflicted. i just don’t want to do all the core classes fresh/soph year; it’ll be so boring. i don’t know, can anyone give me any advice?

do you mean UW-madison? BU and uw-madison were my two ending choices, too, and I know I want to go pre-med, so it was a difficult pick. one, because i'm from suburban indiana, and have felt the "midwestern persona" all throughout high school and wasn't sure if i could deal with it for four more years and, two, even though madison has excellent natural & social science majors, there weren't any special programs or organizations wherein you could challenge yourself more -- even my tour guide told me the "honors" label was a joke and I don't want to get lost in a sea of 6,000 freshmen; i want to stand out, to have extra opportunities beyond just the classroom. though, if i hadn't gotten into bu's UNI program, i probably would've picked madison, just because it was cheaper for me.

if you are talking about university of Washington,
I would def. go to BU. UW has a good premed program but going to UW undergrad isn't necesarily goign to guarnantee your admission at their medical school. Also, i think BU is more well rounded (whatever you choose to do, you won't go wrong) and LOCATIO= = = BOSTON

Im from westcoast and im going to BU next year because going to college is about being independent and BU is the perfect place for me :-)

i meant univ. of wash, but thanks to both bing and jjh3. :o)

Note: It's very very hard to do pre-med at CGS. a friend of mine did it, but took summer classes for three years and had to basically perfect.

i had those two options also and decided on bu cgs, i acutally liked the classes offered for cgs and although i want to do management, i visited both schools and uw just felt too big to me and the social scene at bu was much more attractive to me. dont get me wrong i like to party and all that but at uw it looked like you kinda had to join a frat or sorority to like be cool and party. it's your decision but i say bu cgs!
