BU Applicants

Hey everybody! If you’re applying to BU, what sort of things are you interested in and what do you want to major in?

It seems the other BU applicant thread now deals mostly with arts/music stuff, but I wanted to expand this forum to cover a broader sampling of stuff.

Holla back.

I'm interested in Pre-med and i suppose i will major in biology.
Do you think that BU is a good school for premeds?

i asked my sister (she's a jr. a BU and she works in the undergraduate admissions office there) and she said that the pre-med program at BU is "pretty good." she also said that, as opposed to other schools, it's not a major but a "track," so you major in chem or bio or whatever you want (which may not be what you are looking for.)

hope that helps a bit.

From what I can gather, their Pre-Med works like the Pre-law program; as redsoxfan described.

As for me, I want to be accepted to COM, with a degree in either Film or Journalism.

Hey, I'm applying RD to BU. I'm going to be pre-med also, but my major is going to be Spanish. I've heard that it's a pretty good program, but if you want a really good pre-med school, somewhere like Tufts would be better. BU also has an early notification option for med school, where you apply to their med school in your sophmore year, and you know if you are in or not. And with that, I don't think you have to take the MCATS or anything. This is different than their 7 year med program though, this one takes 8 years.

I applied ED to BU. I think I want ot study Communication Law of I attend - they have a 5 year program.

actually the pre-med program is good but the Medical program is awesome! its really really really tough to get into bu's medical school. my brother got into this type of medical school its called MMEDIC and he's in the top 2 percent of his class...tuns of science courses like an 3.83 GPA. it has a really good reputation but if your going into premed don't think its easy its very very difficult.
