Recommendations
-I'm looking to get a rec from my history teacher, as well as either my physics/calc teacher. Both have potential, but I can't attest to how good they will be.

My essay will probably revolve around how I moved in the middle of my junior year, and how I was able to regain my bearings, and be able to immerse myself into this new community. It's nothing exceptional in the eyes of some, but it was definitely a big point in my high school "career".

i only know enough about a few of those schools. but you are a good match at BU & Northeastern is a safety. BC is between a fit and a reach just because its so competitive & popular. My brother who is 3 years older than us had very similar stats to you & got a full ride to BU, got into Cornell, but got denied from UCBerk. so things may have changed since then but you still have a chance at Cornell! good luck!

^^agree with him, except bc is prob a reach…do you not have honors classes at ur school because of the size? if you dont have many then chances are good…if you do and u didnt take them…chances decrease

Oh, wowww. I forgot all about those; silly me.
Pretty much, except for the required applied arts classes I was required to take, everything has been honors.

Unfortunately, my old school did not offer much in the way of AP’s, so I was stuck taking honors throughout my freshman-junior years. This senior year, I’ve taken all that my schedule can allow, due to conflicts.

I’m honestly not sure, I’m just going by what my transcript said when I went to the school the other day. I think it’s something like Honors classes’ grades are multiplied by 1.1, and AP classes’ grades are multiplied by 1.2. And then of course, Gym and the silly required Art classes are non-weighted.

Boston University- match
Boston College- low reach
Northeastern University- in
U of Miami- low/mid reach
Rutgers- in, raise your sat score and you may qualify for a good amount of scholarship $$
and the extreme reaches…
Cornell (hah)- high reach
UChicago- Do you write well? high reach
UC Berk- high reach
Princeton (lolll)- eh…

see the thing is, I’m not sure when I would take the SAT I again, because I still haven’t taken the subject tests. So if I take the SATII’s in Oct, does that mean I still have time to take the SAT I in Nov before I apply? Or even, can I apply, and then send in my updated scores afterwards? I can’t remember if I’ve looked that up or not, to be honest.

Yup. That’s basically what I’m planning on doing in reverse. SAT I re-take in Oct. SAT II’s in Nov. If you’re not applying EA/ED anywhere you’ll have your scores in more than enough time and even if you are you can always tell the schools that your scores are on the way.

Well, I’m not planning on doing any ED due to financial aid issues, but I might do some EA to a few schools, if I can get everything together in time.

also, semi bump for any more opinions. the more, the merrier (sorry for the cliche).

While you have a solid shot at Northeastern I would not call it a safety. They have a very random admissions process so if you take the apps lightly there is a very good chance that you will either get waitlisted or rejected. The only true safety you have on your list is Rutgers.

you are talking about a swing of like 30% The schools have the same incoming SAT scores but bus admissions rate is 55% while NUs last year was at 32%. NU loves early actions kids

I’d like to try and do EA at all of the the schools that do not require SATIIs, by either just sending my SAT Reasoning scores, or, if I like them, sending my ACT scores. We’ll see though come Sept, Oct, Nov.
