BU BFA Theatre Auditions!

Hello all, I just wanted to start a thread about BU's acting program because I know that it's right in the middle of audition season! I just wanted to extend an offer to anyone with questions, which I'd be happy to answer as best I can. I really just wanted to let most people know that myself and a lot of the other current freshman class will be helping out at these auditions, so if you want to meet up when you get here and shadow any of us, let me know!

:)

Thanks, hello. Can you describe your audition experience and also include how soon after the audition you received an answer?

Good for you, hellohellomo! Boston University School of Theatre has a great program and the more that people know about it, the better.

As far as niftydesign’s second question goes, students receive admissions decisions after everyone has auditioned, around April 1.

BU is amazing:) I hope everything goes well! And good to luck everyone.

I’m auditioning in a few weeks in New York. How do the auditions normally go? Also, does it matter if you’re applying to theatre arts as opposed to just the acting program, or is everyone compared by the same standards since it’s all the same performance core? I’m applying to theatre arts because I love writing, too, and I think I’m really strong at it, but I was just wondering if that even mattered with regards to admissions to the program.
