BU CAS vs CGS

I’m in the last minute to submit my application for regular admission for
Boston University on Common App.
I’m still thinking if I should apply for College of Arts& Sciences for International Relations or College of General Studies.

Boston University is a reach school for me if I apply to CAS,
but I feel more safe to apply to CGS because CGS requires
a little bit lower stats than CAS does.

Is there anyone applying to CGS directly?
What do you guys think?
If you guys want to know my stats, I will reply on the thread.
Please give me some ideas!

I know how the CGS program is like,
I kinda like the idea that I get more time to think about
what I really want to do it the future.

Thank you!!

On the application, theres a box that says you would also like to be considered for CGS. That means that the admissions office will first look at you for CAS and if they don’t think your stats are there, they will then consider you for CGS. Of you really want to major in something offered by CAS, give it a shot…you’ll never know. I’m also going to BU next year (SMG :)) and I thought I wasn’t going to get in! Good luck either way!!!

Definitely apply for CAS, and then check the box off for CGS consideration.
For most people I know, they’d rather be in CAS then CGS. Plus, you take liberal arts courses in CAS anyway.

Okay, I made my mind to apply to CAS. Thank you!
And hopefully I’ll see you next year, brookebooks!

Although you already made up your mind, I completely agree with applying for CAS and just checking off the CGS box. I really truly did not expect getting accepted, and thought if anything, I’d be accepted in to CGS but I got in to CAS as a declared biology major. I’m sure if you write a killer essay and show rigor in your schedule, you should be fine. :)
