Just so you guys know, I was accepted RD with a 1830 SAT score for engineering, just remember that it’s not only about the numbers! Wish you all luck and if you guys have any questions about BU or anything, lemme know!

Will be on pins and needles until next Sunday!!! Please post if you’re accepted!

Applied CAS Philosophy/Political Science and interest in Pre-Law.

Hi! I applied early as well. My regional admissions director from BU told me that by applying directly to CGS ED significantly increases my chances. I applied into CGS because I have my heart set on being at BU and I much rather go through the CGS program for 2 years first before entering my major then not be at BU at all.
I really want to get in ED so I can have all the college pressure done with. If I applied to COM I would most likely be deferred before considered for COM and then CGS.
Any thoughts on the CGS program and the stigma around it?

anniey,
If you are someone who would like to get a little taste of everything, and then use that experience to shape your last two years, that is the right plan for you. I personally have had my heart set on my major for a long time. I of course keep an open mind, I just have developed my interests and preferences a little bit earlier.

Countdown starting at 10.

Hi guys ! I applied ED to SMG for class of 2018! Honest to God am in love with BU!!! If I don’t get in I will most likely slip into a coma of depression lol! I am so excited to hopefully meet you all!!

Also if you guys get in , where are you trying to dorm?? Although I applied to SMG I want to dorm in west. More space, best dining hall, closer to the gym, and sporting events, and the walk from west to SMG will keep the Freshman 15 off I believe.

I’ve gotten in the habit of checking the applicant link every few hours out of sheer anxiety. Can’t wait to hear back!

@sweeks as much as west is new and great, warren isn’t that bad! dining is good, living conditions are great, walk to SMG is minimal, and BU East Stop is right in front of Warren and Kenmore is such an easy walk.

West is best to be honest ;)

@bruins1963 yeah that’s true, but I’ve been in a warren dorm & all my stuff could not fit in there lol west has at least a little more space for my clothes.

By the way is anyone doing FYSOP??

I’m seriously considering it. From what I hear it’s a really good opportunity.

Seriously everyone on this thread who ends up going should get together at the beginning of the year, assuming I get in and can go I would love to meet you all!

Agreed! we definitely should!

And I want to live in Warren I think…it’s so much closer to COM and I’ve heard good things about bonding on the floors so I think it’d be the best option for me overall

anniey, did the RD say anything about acceptance stats for ED CGS?

I applied to CAS ED for philosophy/political science with an interest in pre-law as well and I’m so nervous to find out my stats are average at best I reaaalllly hope it comes out on the 13th instead of having to wait till sunday

UMBILL- she said that if you applied directly to CGS the acceptance rate was significantly higher than the rest of the schools because not many people apply directly to it . She didn’t give me a specific percentage!

Ok, thanks! We went to a CGS open House and they said about 30% of CGS students apply directly.
