BU Class of 2018 waitlist

SAT: 2100
GPA: - (took o/a levels. thought my grades were OK considering the pre-requisite for BU is o levels)
decent extracurriculars & recs
international student as well!

didn’t get accepted to the other schools i applied for, sad. but if all else fails i’ll probably stick to my local university. would love the experience overseas though

Better than my stats… Anyways, I hope they release the decisions by this week… The anxiety, bros…

Still no answer, guys?..

@Koreanboi6789‌ nope :(

Same, I didn’t hear back yet :frowning:

This is depressing… I wonder what’s taking them so long

I recently got an email regarding the waitlist. It states:

Dear Name:

On behalf of the Board of Admissions, I would like to thank you for your continued interest in Boston University and for your decision to remain on our waiting list. Unfortunately, all openings in the Class of 2018 have been filled, and we are unable to offer you admission to Boston University.

Should you remain interested in Boston University, you may wish to consider the possibility of transferring to BU after one or two years of strong academic work at another college or university. Each year, we enroll approximately 500 transfer students, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this option with you.

Please accept my best wishes for a successful resolution to your college search and in all of your future academic endeavors.

Sincerely,

John C. McEachern
Director of Admissions

Oh wells. We’ll be great in our respective schools no matter what.

Do I still have a chance if you didn’t get an e-mail yet?

Where are you going instead @euclase‌ ? There are a ton of good schools out there so stay positive!

Kind of losing hope… Any words of comfort? @tinyvesssels‌ @thetourist1220‌

@koreanboi6789, still nothing from BU! could be a good or a bad thing we wouldn’t know yet. cause wouldn’t it be pretty unfair to keep us waiting if we were to get rejected especially when others have gotten their rejection letters already? let’s just keep hoping :(

also, @euclase i hope you are feeling alright! i’m sure you’ll love the college you’re going to  if not there is always the option to transfer heh.

@tinyvessels did you call and ask for your decision? Or at least the status of it?
ps I love Benjamin Gibbard lol

@khristina nope, since the expected reply date for waitlisted candidates is 15th June, I’ll probably wait! haha oh yeah, he has a great voice. love dcfc!

STILL NOTHING. WOWZA. AREN’T YOU GUYS GETTING RESPONSES YET?

Same, idk what’s taking them so long to send our rejection letters? I certainly have no hope now

@thetourist1220‌ Still have hope! They might be carefully scrutinizing our applications! I’m sure that they have already sent out rejection letters to those who aren’t qualified at all…

@tinyvesssels‌ Do you agree with me?

still no response too. is there a possibility that they did not use their waitlist this year though? but still, very confused as to why @euclase got his/her rejection but we haven’t :frowning: hate this feeling. still clinging on to that small bit of hope though

I think they are still reviewing applications to be honest!

They go through the wiat list and match students with majors they ahve selected. once a studnet in your major plls out, they go the person on the list with that major. One they fill a major ( or undecided) they clos that list and tell other applicants its over
