Mine I could access
Im too stressed out.
@acron611 oh my god sameeeeee #:-S
My housing link still says access denied I don’t wanna read too far into this but I’m really nervous !!!
@brraedyn my housing link says “access denied”. Does that mean that im not in? My twin brother who has really high stats also as “access denied”. Are they updating it alphabetically since we are down at the bottom of the alphabet?
someone tweet them out
@acorn611 I also have access denied for the housing link, and I’m near the top of the alphabet. How high stat is your brother?
ACT:33
Top 5-9%
Mine says access denied but the portal is still updating.
@meganewarren I guess we will check later since its still updating? They have to do thousands…
@acron611 not sure… i’m too scared to try the housing link tbh. but that makes sense to me; they probably do it by last name or region. (i’m also towards the end of the alphabet).
@brraedyn check!
It could very well be they haven’t finished updating everyone yet. My theory is the update puts everyone in the system as admitted or denied in some sort of order (so it might not be finished with everyone yet) and then locks the decisions till Saturday. With that being said it’s most likely not locking the decision out of their own systems, thus when you try to access the housing page and you’re in their own systems as admitted, then it will let you in and show you as a new student because to the best of the housing departments knowledge you are an openly admitted student.
BU and all colleges should block access to the student portal a week before decisions come out and open just before release.
how many hours would such an update take?
@redpoodles they have to give access to stuff to all of the accepted students which takes time. Also, they have to send out the letters for every applicant. Assuming its 50k+ applicants, maybe 3-4 hours?
Got into the housing portal as a new student! Hope it means something. Could also be just like the UCSD trick though, which didnt work.
@redpoodles The update could be already done, but BU won’t get rid of the update screen until its time for release.
@AllyssXx whats the UCSD trick?
@redpoodles Pretty sure they’re usually done the same day (they were previous years)
@TomSrOfBoston What’s the fun in that though? You’d think colleges would appreciate the critical thinking and thought process that goes into trying to figure this stuff out
