DS was waitlisted by BU this year. The decision letter from BU offered him the opportunity to put his name on an unranked “short list” - those are the words BU used - of applicants who might be offered admission at a later date. DS declined a spot on the list, so it’s academic at this point, but it seems a pretty big stretch to call a list of several thousand applicants a “short list,” especially given how few seem to be admitted from the WL in a typical year.
@TomSrOfBoston expected for a class of only 3100… we don’t know how many were accepted to CGS of the waitlist… again they are misleading applicants… this is all a publicity stunt for the rankings
@TomSrOfBoston- do you know if the “other first year degree seeking “ are the “guaranteed sophomore transfers?” I was trying to understand if there are a lot of students offered this program and how many end up taking it ? Thanks for any ideas !
@Tigerishmother No, those offered Guaranteed Sophomore Transfer are in the “Denied” category. They have been denied for freshman admission. Also no one accepted to the CGS January-London program is included in the accepted student figure. The accepted students in the 22% acceptance rate are those accepted for Fall, 2018 entry.
