BU definitely cheaped me out on financial aid

my parents make a total of 90,000 a year. they are paying 50,000 a year on my sisters med school. i have another little sister. i got 3,000 of financial aid. therefore BU would cost 40,000. W T F! we requested an appeal, but wont get info by may 1 when deposits are due. im not sure if i should blow 500 on BU. i really want to go there but i got a full scholarship from a LAC thats generally better than BU, but id like my social life at BU better. blah. oh yeah and theres another school where im thinking of sending my deposit. i dont know what to do.

Would go get the loans and and them back over a decade while you work after college? Thats a different way of looking at it.

the most they can give u is between 7-9k in grants

That isn't true. I received 27,900 in grants for this coming year. I don't see how you got so little aid though. I would look into that for sure.

i gave them my passport photo late, so they said i wont get financial aid this year. the 3000 was only in loans. so i wont go to BU for that reason. have a good year guys!

No I meant is
the most they can give u is 7-9k in grants when u file an appeal

Loans are a killer. They have the potential to ruin you financially. I suggest you get on SallieMae.com or CollegeAnswer.com to see how much you would have to pay each month for, say, 180 months (or 15 years) with interest. I was seriously considering about taking out $80,000 in loans for BU or NYU, but I realized that I would actually be paying close to $160,000 in the end. It also depends on what kind of credit history your parents have, and if they could help you at all in the long run. Seeing as it's past May 1, you must've already decided though.
