She didn’t get on. :frowning:

They deferred me and said it was bc I couldn’t submit first marking grades:/ My school doesn’t send those so I hope I can still get a decision

Deferred also. :face_vomiting:

Is there a reason given? Or other instructions? Ours just says make sure to submit mid-year grades. Is that standard

We didn’t get a reason. Just said you’re put in the regular pool and submit mid year grades.

Same here…

Ok yes, same here. Sounds like a standard deferral letter. I wonder how many of the deferred applicants actually make it in the “regular admissions”

Does anyone know if anyone gets rejected outright? Or is everyone ED deferred if they don’t get in?

I submitted mid year grades and still got deferred and no other reason stated. The wait to March 26 begins…

I thought I read somewhere that some could be rejected in ED and not deferred. Not sure though

My daughter was rejected outright. We knew it was a reach. 4.7 gpa but only 2 AP classes. The letter invited her to transfer after freshman year.

BU and Northeastern were both seriously oberenrolled this year. They may be reducing the size of the 2022 entering class.

Good luck to her. Many other fish in the sea.

During the admissions cycle I called the admissions office asking if I had to submit a mid-year report as an early decision applicant. My school is in a semester schedule so I didn’t know know what to do. When I called the office in front of my counselor they told me that I did not have to submit this information until it was available in January. But a week after the deadline for this form I received an email saying that I still needed to submit the mid-year report, which I did but a week late. In my defferal letter is said that they strongly recommend I send this information for the regular decision cycle. Does anyone think that it’s worth it to appeal my decision since the office accidentally told me the wrong information and I would have turned in the report in time? I believe that this misinformation greatly effected my admissions chances

It certainly can’t hurt to get in contact with the admissions representative for your state/region and ask. It is likely they remind everyone a mid-year report is needed for RD to have a more recent update of grades and it doesn’t really signify anything, but it never hurts to show interest.

The same thing happened to me.
