BU Emails

Hey, if anyone was wondering. Email is up. Got mine set up today. You should get an email from them.

FYI, I believe that when you register on the network in the fall, you will need to change your password. So don't pick as your password now the one that you desperately want to use for all time.

ok, stupid q... my kid set up his bu email (yay!) but doesn't know how to check/use that email. i surely don't know! help?

First I set up my ID name(I assume thats what you've done) then I recieved an email stating that my BU email is [IDName]@bu.edu and a link to the mailbox.

he can log on to the student link and check it online or he can set up whatever email program he uses on his computer to check it. You need to check the help for whatever email program he uses. Set it up as an IMAP not a POP account. A POP account downloads the mail and is designed to move all the mail to your computer. An IMAP account is designed to be managed on the server, so you delete messages by going to the server. You can access the account from anywhere - meaning anywhere, including a library.

If we are deferring for a year can we still get an Email address?

Why do you need a bu email address if you're not even going there for ~18 months?

This has been stated before, but I think it deserves reiterating.
Please please please be smart about what you choose as your BU email. Nicknames or current screennames you have may not be appropriate when emailing Professors.

So I encourage you NOT to pick something like drunkinhottiexoxo@bu.edu

:-)

How did you already know what I picked?

hahahaha funny post lukeaa!

i got my email from BU today. i just dont understand the part about changing your password and stuff after you register in the fall...it's all so confusing. hahaha!

see you all in the fall!

From what I understand, you can keep it but you have to register it there with an ID. Or it could be what Lergnom said and you have to change it. I'm not sure.

You will have to change your password in the fall. I don't know why.

a week or so into the fall semester, they'll probably email u with further instructions on changing your password and going to the 111 cummington street computer lab to swipe your ID. the process took a total of 10 seconds.

That K-word password is so weird. 10 characters, 2 caps, numbers, lowercase, etc... I'm totally going to forget mine...

-The K Coot66

Don't worry you'll be forced to change it in the fall. And you'll end up entering it so many times you'll never forget it.

And I work in 110 Cummington St. I'm excited for the fall. When NO ONE can find 111 Cummington St. haha.

Yayyyyy amatejka@bu.edu XDXDXD
