Bu MET

Does the degree of bu metropolitan college would be considered as a second-class degree? I am a international student. The program I want to take is under met. So I am a little confused now.

@beroroyan The short answer would be “no.” A degree from MET is a degree from Boston University, and it is not inferior to a degree from any of BU’s other schools. That said, a large number of MET students are working professionals (a criterion for admission includes adult work experience). I suggest that you reach out to MET with your questions as some members here will simply be misinformed.

Anyone know how selective are the MET-Boston University admission process is?
I am very interested and it’s look as an international I have been denied by some universities.

I believe that BU MET has open admission for taking classes for any high school graduate. You apply for admission to a degree program after completing a certain number of courses at MET and admission is based solely on your performance in those courses. MET classes are held in the evening and I do not believe that you are eligible for housing etc. until you have been admitted to degree status.

Thank you so much for your response Tom!
But I find a real application process in the MET Boston University, do you study there(BU)?
I am getting so upset with the transfer applications, it is kind of unfair competition with the american students, specially if you came from unusual country as Brazil.
I think that in this extension schools I can find more comprehension with my background
( I have already some internships in some important co. as HSBC and Unilever). Do you guys recoomend me another options besides MET?

I have already had an ad@actuarial science master degree. But I also got admitting from other universities like u. Of Iowa. Now what I am struglling about is whether this program is worse then others in regular universities. Or they are the same, just because different university policy makes it under met or mathematics department.
