I applied to BU, and I think I have an okay chance to get in, I posted a topic here a while back, and the general response was that I was a pretty good fit for the school.

what I'm wondering now is about Off-Campus Housing and Financial Aid.

My parents told me that they'd pay for wherever I go, but I'm still hoping to help them out wherever possible. What are my options for Financial Aid and Scholarships? BU is really expensive, and I'd like to make it as painless as possible.

Secondly, from what I've heard, I'm pretty much guaranteed no to get on-campus housing. My question is how this will likely compare price-wise to on-campus housing, AND will I be able to get on-campus housing the following semester? or am I stuck?

Anyone who can answer my questions is GREATLY appreciated.

BU is somewhat stingy with financial aid and the many students that go there feel they pay too much, but if your family really needs the money, they usually do a better job. For instance, I pay about $36,0000 a year to attend BU with grants and scholarships, which I feel is still alot since my mom doesn't work anymore (my dad still does). My friend pays about $10,000 $20,000 a year which is still alot because she is paying for it herself. You should also look into scholarships outside of BU. There are TONS of them.

Depending on where you live off-campus, the price is comprable to living on-campus. This is only what I've heard. And I don't think you'd have a problem getting back into the housing system. If they offer you the Hyatt, I would take it. It's about a 20 minute walk from campus, but there's the free shuttle. Also, after one semester, they let you move out into somewhere on campus.

Hope that helped.
