BU or BC?

Med school is the goal. Which do you think would be better for that?

Partying is nice. Which do you think would be better for that?

You’ll probably have a harder time getting the 3.4+ GPA necessary at BU to get into med school so I would say BC. Party scene probably doesn’t change much except BC has a football team.

-Current BU student

Grade deflation? I feel like BC has that too, and so does Berkeley which is my third option… So I’m pretty much screwed all the way around?

@VIkIngboy11: how bad is it really? I’m most scared about gen chem than I’m about bio but who knows… I think with my AP 5 I’d be able to skip BIO 101/102 (?)

In 2007 the average gpa at BU was 3.04

I can only speak for BU but when i remember researching BC i want to say it was at least close to a 3.4

@VIkIngboy11: crap, that sucks… BU is my only option at this point :frowning: I’m willing to put the work because I consider myself a hard worker but it definitely scares me every time I hear or read something like that. My aim is to graduate with a 3.8+ now I don’t even know if that’s possible… I’ll be taking gen chem and bio freshman year. I’m not sure apart from these 2 classes what I’m going to have to take. Would I be able to take something not as hard to balance with these two classes? I’ve satisfied the foreign language requirement and math requirement with my SAT and SAT II scores…

I mean the WR100/WR150 class is fairly easy so that shouldn’t be too bad and PS101 wasn’t bad either. I haven’t take a math or language since im in sargent. A 3.8+ will be hard… especially for any sort of STEM major.

I think I won’t have to take PS101 since I got a 4 on AP Psychology. I’m looking to major in Neuroscience and minor in Psychology. What are some things you do in WR 100/150?

You read 3 books and write a paper on each of the books… besides that it is kind of depend on what topic your class is about. Generally on the last two papers there is peer editing and a couple drafts so usually you will wind up submitting something solid.
