I am completely stuck between these two Universities and have no idea where I want to go next year. Any help would be much appreciated!
Drexel
-I would study Business: Business and Engineering on a 5 year/ 3 co-op program
-44,000 a year in scholarships.
Boston
-I would study engineering at the College of Engineering
-61,000 a year in scholarships
I am not completely decided on Engineering yet either which is why for Drexel I am in their Business and Engineering Program. Regardless of which school I would like to possibly double major in Business and Engineering or possibly Major in Engineering and Minor in Business. I think I will have around 28 - 32 credits from APs if I go to Boston and 32-39 credits if I go to Drexel, which should help with the double major aspect. Boston is a much more competitive school to get into but Drexel has the co-op program which would immensely help with getting a job after college. Any help would be greatly appreciated cause I have no idea where I’m going next year. Thank you in advance!
What would be your Engineering concentration under the Business and Engineering at Drexel?
Are you saying that you are getting 17K a year more in scholarship money a year from BU? What are the GPA requirements for both schools to maintain the scholarships?
I am currently undecided in Engineering for both Boston and Drexel because I’m not sure if I’d want to pursue engineering. Also yes, I’m getting 17K more at BU because I received the full tuition scholarship at BU for a combination of merit and financial aid, was very surprised when I saw they gave me that scholarship. I only need to maintain a 2.0 for BU’s scholarship. I think Drexel’s requires a 2.75 but I am not sure because it does not directly specify.
Also I forgot to mention that I live 45 minutes from Drexel (suburbs outside of Philadelphia)
Unless you wish to stay close to home I think BU would be a better academic choice and the added cost savings just makes it that more appealing. Did you check with BU if it’s easy/hard to switch out of Engineering into another college?
I think majors aren’t really decided until Junior year correct, so I should be able to switch. Also I heard it’s easier to transfer out of engineering than into it but I’m not sure if that is true or not?
That’s a great package for BU! Both good schools, but if you can afford it, I’d say BU. Boston is a great college city and BU is a great school. Good luck!
Boston U is such an amazing and well known school! Congrats on the acceptances!
That is a great package from Boston and it’s considered an amazing school! Personally, I would choose BU but it is obvs your choice.
