BU or UCONN

Well, so much for Brown PLME. Now that I know I'm not Ivy League material, I have to decide between the only two schools that I got accepted to. (In case you're wondering, I am applied to 14. Sad, I know.)

Luckily, I got into UCONN with a major in Molecular and Cell Biology (but I didn't even get into the Honors Program, even though people who aren't as...hard working got in). I got a good offer in terms of financial aid, but that isn't my deciding factor. I got accepted to BU, for Human Physiology at Sargent college. I don't know much about either school, but now I need to know. I am planning on pre-med (that's been my plan since Preschool). So which school would be better for me to go to for pre-med? (Another note, I am a CT resident).

The only reason to choose Boston University is if both cost the same. Boston is very urban with no campus whereas Storrs is extremely rural. UConn has a bigger campus. For pre-med you don’t want to get any loans during undergrad. Do both cost exactly the same ? You need to go with Storrs.

UConn because it is going to be much cheaper and will give you the same job prospects at graduation but it won’t cost as much.

I think BU is a better choice but only if you can afford it! As for the “no campus” observation, a BU student would say “the city is my campus!”. Those who choose BU love being in the heart of the city.

Wow! I really appreciate all of the input people have put in! Thank you very much!!! I have found out from the last few colleges I applied to, and have decided that as of right now, I will be attending UCONN. I got waitlisted at a few schools, and I’ve decided to stay on the waitlists, not that I expect to get accepted from there. I realize that money wise, UCONN would be the better option, and I like the idea of staying in-state. Again, thank you for everyone who replied!

Go Huskies! My D and my parents are UCONN alum, good choice!
Start grad school with as little debt as possible is the way to go…
