BU Pre-Med & Econ? Merit Aid

I wasn't that interested in BU (mainly b/c of the price...i can go to a UC for 1/2 the price) but they keep sending me lots of stuff & I got a thing today that seems to show they offer lots of merit aid.

So anyway, asking for me & a friend:

-How are med school prospects after graduating from BU? (not asking about the 7 or 8 yr program, whichever it is...just a standard degree in bio or something of the sort)
-How is the econ department? How does BU in sending kids to top grad schools?

bump, no idea anyone?

Try asking on the BU Board or the BU sections of LiveJournal. Med school admits depend largely on test scores, the school you attend for undergrad may be less of a factor than you might think it would be. BU has a lot of opportunities for internships, etc. They are generous with merit scholarships. Our S is a F. there, probably majoring in Eco., he chose it over more selective schools because he wanted an urban environment. They offered a half tuition merit scholarship and that helped tip the scales.

Its worth checking out as are many other similar schools that are generous with merit $. There is a whole thread on CC listing dozens of such schools including a web link describing the various scholarships. If you go on a schools web site and search under merit scholarship they typically provide you with the stats needed to qualify and the GPA needed to maintain it.
