I got an email saying March 17th, same as the SpaceX founder.
Thanks, @MrElonMusk
What are the chances for a person with a 1360 sat and a 90 weighted average, from nyc just got rejected from a school and this is my last hope of going somewhere i want to. have 290 hours at a hospital etc
You’ll be fine @Jordan122 You got a lot of hours!
I’m not sure if this means anything but the message from my applicant portal has always said “Our records indicate…” and it just changed to the “Thank you” message.
Where did it say “our records indicate”?
@senioritisls me too! I applied Dec. 1st and I’ve always had the our records indicate message until today, I just checked. Now it says “Thank you for your application.” It’s kind of weird that it took so long to change though because I applied over 3 months ago…
My S’s message still says “Our records…” He applied to CAS on December 28…
Based on info from last year’s thread, there is only significance for the “Thank you”/“Our records” beginning for Early Decision. People with both messages were accepted RD last year. Good luck everyone! We’re getting close now!
My message just changed last week to “thank you” from our records. I applied in late December to Questrom.
Based on Last years threads. “Our records indicate” is a deferral and “thank you” is an acceptance or rejection
mine changed over to thank you as well. im praying for good news!
“Our records” only means a deferral in ED, when deferrals are an admissions option. There aren’t deferrals in RD, and there’s no correlation between the message and waitlist/deny or an acceptance.
Looking at the thread for RD 2021 (this issue wasn’t mentioned on the 2020 string), I can tell you that the “thank you” and “our records” messages appear to be all over the map (as were the stats of those admitted and denied, BTW). It’s an unscientific sampling, of course, and it’s hard to discern who always had “our records” or always had “thank you” or got “the switch” to “thank you,” but without more concrete data points it’s fair to say that kids with “thank you” were both accepted and rejected. There weren’t enough kids with “our records” who reported outcomes to be able to draw conclusions, but I can say at least one who always had our records was admitted, and two who always had our records (but were international, FWIW) were admitted. Basically, there’s no clear cut correlation like there is with ED1.
okay so ATTENTION CLASS OF 2019/2023 WHO ARE STALKING THIS THREAD NEXT YEAR: the language on the applicant link is NOT indicative of your admissions decision. Good luck to you all!
The language on the application is indicative of your admission decision. Definitively for ED1 if you had/have the “Thank you” message up until right before decisions came out you were accepted and if you had a “Our records” message (everyone starts out with one but then for some it switches to a very similar worded one with the same opener) then you are deferred. This is basically absolute, because for the past three or four years the pattern has been this way. Of course the sample size is small but I don’t think it is just a coincidence that it worked that way for EVERY SINGLE ED1 applicant. For ED2 it seems to be that the “Thank you” message indicates acceptance or denial and “Our records” means deferral, but this is less absolute. FOR RD THE MESSAGES DO NOT CORRELATE TO ACCEPTANCE OR DENIAL!!!
And that’s all I’ve got LOL but that is a summary of everything. Anything other than the messages (housing emails or other emails or financial aid messages) have not been proven to have a correlation whatsoever for ED1, ED2, or RD!!!
^Yep! I forgot to mention that it’s NOT a clue for RD but it is for the ED’s.
Mine says “Our records indicate that your application for admission is complete for academic review. However, we have not received appropriate documentation of financial resources. If you would like to discuss the status of your application, please contact International Admissions at 617-353-4492 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.” So nervous right now, I sent my docs weeks ago, but they said that they didn’t get the proper ones. Is any intl student having the same massage as mine??? BU is my top choice…
:((
@alli1999 I actually emailed them about that and the admissions office told me not to worry about it - it won’t make an impact on your decision for admission, but if admitted they will need you to send that documentation in order to initiate the process of issuing your visa
How many engineering applicants received the Dan Tyburski and Trisha Mah email about learning more about BU engineering? I applied for college of engineering and haven’t received that email up till now so I hope it’s not indicative of anything
