I don’t know, it’s pretty confusing…but it definitely has been sporadic as far as what the portals say and what it actually means. If I had to guess, there is no correlation but that is just optimistic
Have you all considered the possibility that you’re over-analyzing this? The possibility that, perhaps, you should just go outside, read a book, tell a joke, laugh with your friends? That you should take a breath and relax? Because that’s what I recommend.
Let us overreact. This is our future LOL
Should we start a new thread for results only because this one is getting so long?
Not to stress people, but my friend who applied ED was in the same situation we’re in now; some of his friends and others had the “our records indicate” message while he had “thank you for applying”. I can’t speak for his other friends who got the former message, but my friend who received the ladder message ended up getting in.
I also have this updated message but, like many others on this thread have said, I wouldn’t look too much into this; I find it highly unlikely that so many qualified applicants who have the “our records indicate” message would all get rejected.
Good luck everyone!
@snoailles Our unscientific research has only been able to find a correlation for EDI. If your friend applied ED2, that would be an interesting data point, but that’s about it.
did anyone else receive the catalogue for summer term at bu in the mail?
@nammyohorengekyo Well, I just put that to the test for UConn. My oldest son goes there, so I was able to access the student directory. He is listed but my youngest son who was admitted a couple of weeks ago is not listed. However, my oldest was listed before he was a student because he was taking courses at his high school for UConn credit. A school is not going to include someone in their directory that is not at least taking courses there. Stop speculating, chill. You will have a definite decision soon
@snoailles Do you mean your friend from this past year for ED or in 2016? If you mean 2016, your friend was deferred from ED with “our records” then changed to “thank you” in RD and was admitted?
so what kind of stats do u guys all have? feel free to share! also regarding the “our records indicate” and “thank you” controversy, I think everyone at some point will end up getting the “thank you” note if Bu finishes reviewing your application. So don’t worry! I hope everyone gets in <3
I have strong stats and I still have the “our records indicate”, but I applied an hour before the deadline so I really think it’s because of this.
@beligr129 same! I have pretty great stats but it says “our records indicate”
3.6 GPA 1550 SAT “thank you” message
I have a thank you message and mention of senior grades.
@robotmachine and @kuhlm44937 and @beligr129: to which school did you apply? @robotmachine and @kuhlm44937: when did your message change from “our records”?
Mine changed to “thank you” and mentioned senior grades a long time ago. Also, does the housing link work for anyone?
I applied 12/2 to CAS, but my message only changed to “thank you” a few days ago.
@StressedSeniorInt do you mean the link at the bottom of the page? It just goes to the generic housing web page.
Just an update on the email I sent for updating accomplishments over the weekend, they said thank you and they will me added to my file to be reviewed with my application. I sent in the updates after my message changed to “thank you…”, so idk if that’ll actually look at them or they already made their decision. (Pretty sure if they already did make their decision before the updates I don’t have a chance, my significant EC activities came after I applied and my stats are pretty low, so I don’t think that the message changing is necessarily a positive).
@YoungOne4 I applied to the college of arts and sciences as a psychology major
