Hi, my son was accepted into it for this summer (2015) and we’re trying to decide if the program is worth it. I have found a few, mixed comments in various threads so didn’t know if anyone else had some comments about it. We only have two weeks to respond so we are trying to make an intelligent decision. Thanks.
Congratulations to him! I am finishing my application this week :). This thread from last year may answers a lot of your questions: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/internships-careers-employment/1587248-bu-rise-program-2014.html
Thanks. Unfortunately, most of the posts talk about applying and not many about how the experience was. Good luck to you
My daughter went last year and loved it. She loved the work she did, met fantastic people and made great friends,. She took full advantage of Boston and its restaurants, museums and parks. I have nothing negative to say about the program!
2girls2015…thanks. Can I ask what field of study she did her research in?
I applied before the early deadline and still haven’t heard back. D:
Literatechild, sorry about that. I think a lot depends on what area of research you want
@buckeyeinmd I applied for Biomedical Engineering research =/
@literatechild it’s ok, last year many people got acceptances very late! it might take longer for some students to get matched with a suitable project
@buckeyeinmd did he get accepted to any other programs?
itmyusername, that’s the issue. We are still waiting to hear on others but don’t have much time to decide about RISE. That’s why we’re trying to find out how everyone liked it in the past. What about you?
What area of research did he apply for?
@hydropane…biomedical
