BU RISE Chances

I tried to post this in the "What are my chances" forum, but no one replied :(. Thought you guys might be more helpful :)

So I applied for BU RISE, an engineering summer program at Boston University, on 4/2/12. Letters come out in probably three weeks, and I just wanted to hear your input. I applied for the Biomed Engineering one. Here's the link if you want it: High School Summer Internships in Science & Engineering | Boston University Summer Term

Academics:
All honors maths: Geometry (A), Algebra II (A), Precalc (A) and a note about Precalc H at my school: It's all of precalc and all of calc A in one year (so through integration).

Science: Bio (A) Chem Honors (A/B+) AP Chem (A-), and AP CompSci A (A)

Etc: AP Latin, APUSH, AP Human Geo, English II and III Honors, AP Art History (these are AP's I've already done and are enrolled in currently)

GPA: 4.26 weighted through five semesters, 3.88 unweighted through five semesters

No class rank (school doesnt provide)

Test Scores:
AP's: HumanGeo (5), Art History (4)
SAT: 2230, CR: 730, Math: 720, Writing: 780
SAT II: BioM: 760, Chem: 720

EC's:
I volunteer at local Boy's and Girl's Club
Special Camp for Special Kids (a weeklong program over the summer where a counselor hangs out with a special needs camper, and takes them to the zoo, bowling, etc, and just has a good time)
Varsity Tennis, 2 years
This past summer I got a job at a civil engineering firm and got to work alongside them, and I was able to learn a lot from the experience how engineers work (I put this in my essay)
Headmaster's Honors all years of high school

Letters of Rec: Great, I got one from counselor who knows me very well, as well as my academic advisor, who just so happens to be my AP chem teacher as well.

Essay: pretty good in my opinion, my counselor read it over and thought i did well.

I appreciate your input, whether positive or negative. Thanks!

you have a pretty good chance of getting in, considering your stats are decent and this program isn’t too selective.

So I applied for this program too, but where did you write ec’s and honors? There wasn’t any room on the app, so I didn’t. Did I overlook something?

Thanks! And there wasn’t any room, so don’t worry. I honestly don’t know why I put them there. And what focus of study did you apply for?

biology haha. I hope we both get in! The wait is killing me.

haha yeah same here…how selective is the program anyway?

People with 3.5 GPA have gotten into this program in the past.

They get about 200 applications and select 40 kids. Which is decent.

so do you know anyone that went to RISE and how they liked it?

Yeah I’m still waiting for a response from their team. I hope i get in!

^what concentration did you apply for?

I applied as well, for Chemistry. I was torn between chem and physics, but in the end went with Chem.

Do you guys think I have a good chance at getting in? I nervous about the decisions coming out…

I think you’ll get in because you have pretty decent stats. Oh, and I applied for physics. But the wait is killing me too! :S

does anyone know anyone that went to RISE and how they liked it?

Did you get in?

Haven’t gotten a letter. You?

I was wait listed…

When did you send it in/get it back?

I sent it late March, and got a reply a couple days ago

what were your stats? my reply should come soon

Yeah same mine shud be coming soon…I’m nervous haha
