Junior here. I applied to RSI and I’m planning on applying to the BU Rise program as well. Seems like every year or two someone gets a publication (internship) and there are about 3-5 Siemens semifinalists as well. Just curious, are there any other prestigious programs like such that have publications and/or submissions to national competitions such as Siemens and ISEF?
I’m planning on applying so just discuss any stats, concerns, etc!
In the first essay, what does ‘what you want to study’ refer to? Study in RISE or in college? Assuming it refers to what you want to study in college. Right?
@mango9
I assume it just means what you want to study in college.

You should be fine staying as a commuter. There isn’t a requirement to go to Dorms I believe. I didn’t go last year though so idk for sure.
Do any alums have advice on which research category I should apply for if I am interested in computational biology, machine learning, bioinformatics, biostat. Anything along those lines really. Also which professors I should list?
Yeah I’ll also need help on which professors to list. I hope to become a physician so any field related to medicine really. I’m currently doing research on nanoparticles
I applied to Internship too and am kind of worried that I will have to pull my application because other program decisions come out and make you reply much earlier. Last year it looked like the decision came out anywhere from late March until may.
Haven’t heard back. I applied to the internship track for the physics department. Does anyone know if it’s harder to get into certain departments than others? I was worried that obtaining a physics internship could be more difficult than say bio or engineering because of the background required and other factors.
