Bu rise vs garcia vs hshsp

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could provide input on whether BU Rise or Garcia is better? In terms of research quality, fun, prestige, etc.?

I don’t know but I saw this list under a thread entitled “Updated Listing of Best Summer Programs” (or something like that. I have no idea whether the person who made the list is correct but it is true that RSI is generally very highly regarded, as is SSP so I think it probably is not that far off. That’s in terms of prestige and research qualit :

  1. RSI/SSP
  2. Simons (I'm biased)
  3. Clarks Scholars/NIH
  4. SIMR/ Jackson Labs
  5. HSHSP
  6. Garcia
  7. SSTP
  8. Rockefeller

For fun, BU Rise is in Boston and I think Garcia is at Stony Brook so it’s the difference being in a great city and being on a suburban campus. You can probably get more information by perusing the threads in the Summer Programs board.

Garcia > HSHSP > BU Rise

Actually, Garcia and HSHSP Is a bit difficult to compare. However, if you are into chemistry, I highly suggest Garcia. If not, Hshsp may be a better option.

Is it much worse or comparable to garcia/hshsp?
