I am currently attending Virginia Tech as a freshman in their engineering porgram from MA. Due to some family circumstances, I may need to transfer back somewhere much closer to my home as soon as possible.

I was wondering if anyone knew a little bit more about the spring semester transfer option available at BU? Is it highly competitive, do I need to look for other options?

From HS:
31 ACT
3.8 GPA
AP’s:
4 AP Chem
4 AP English Composition and Language
4 AP Calc AB
4 AP World History
4 AP US History

I have decent EC’s in the arts (intern at an art studio since freshmen year of HS) along with 4 years of afterschool studio art, 4 years of amnesty international club, 4 years of habitat for humanity, 100+ volunteer hours at the hospital/library, 2 years backstage crew, and some more.

As for college:
I am taking:

General Chemistry
Intro to Spacilization
Calculus 1
Linear Algebra
Engineering Exploration
World Regions

I plan to at the worst get a 3.4+ GPA, the classes seem manageable for now?

Any advice or suggestions on what to do/how to apply?
