BU Transfer Fall 2014

Man, you guys, we totally got jipped. I can’t believe @klgood wasn’t at least offered a better package. It reminds me of this article I read about BU. Here’s the link; it’s pretty eye-opening.

<a href=“Inside the Financial Aid Office at Boston University - The New York Times”>Inside the Financial Aid Office at Boston University - The New York Times;

1k is really ridiculous. I received more than this amount while I was in college. @PaintTheSilence It’s a good article, I do have the same feeling, the financial office did something really ridiculous to me… 8-| Good luck!

Accepted smg!

Do you think these gaps are they way they are because they’re trying to “discourage” us from attending. IE: financial rejections?

Yeah I really think they don’t care about transfer students and they don’t really care about our merit. My merit is pretty high for a transfer student (4.0 gpa and great hs records) and I am the same student that they “encouraged” last year with a $42.5k fin aid package…way to go BU.

although it may seem low, they aren’t being unfair to transfer. they have to fill more spots in a freshman class and they are accepted earlier so financial aid goes in that direction. then they consider transfers. it’s not that they’re being unfair it’s just how the process works at bu and it is a relatively known fact with them. you can always take out more loans.

I understand, I just wish the process would require that we apply the same time as freshmen (Jan 1st or something like that) and that financial aid awards/admissions decisions are given at the same time, especially considering that there aren’t a ton of transfer applicants to begin with.

Just got my fin aid decision. No aid. Just approval for a $1000 stafford loan. Yippee.

@khristina that is just nuts…I’m so sorry :frowning: Their aid is terrible.

Does anyone know when we get our physical letters? Or if we actually get one?

I got mine two days ago in the mail. @AndrewL3‌

where else did you apply @khristina? and is BU still an option for you with such little aid?

I did apply to some other schools. Still waiting to hear back from most of them. In the boston area I still have BC and tufts to stew over for a while longer. How about you @klgood‌ ?
I’ve been asking myself all day if BU is worth that high price tag.

I applied to Northeastern too! Got accepted & will probably go there unless a financial aid miracle happens at BU. Both are great schools so I would be happy to go to either & the scholarship I received at northeastern I can’t really turn down!

@khristina ^^^

Hey guys is it a bad sign that I still haven’t gotten a decision from BU? Also when i logged into my account today I had a new notification saying that BU is missing the mid-term grades (I’m guessing Spring Semester). What is my next step :O

@kchoi1021 send your mid-term report as soon as possible. The good thing I think is they are reviewing your application? I was also required to submit my proof graduation. Do you receive UID?

Does anyone know if there is a transfer facebook page for us all?

Without the spaces, because CC won’t let me post the link without spaces
