Or I guess which syllabuses are you talking about? *

Hey guys,

Glad I found this thread. Submitted my application right on the deadline. Let’s wait and see what happen. I am really excited! Anyone wants to post stats?

And Nostalgia14, email credeval@bu.edu. They will explain about the course syllabi and how to transfer it and other information. Let me remind you that you have get on with it right now. I attended a virtual orientation with BU admissions, and they said that we should submit couse syllabi right after we apply, so do check up on that.

Oh thanks cctransfer212 I did not realize we had to do that before being accepted.

I called my buddy who got in as a transfer last fall and he said they called him after he was accepted for certain classes’ syllabi. I will call BU tomorrow and ask them how they want it because with midterms and everything I’d rather be studying than looking up course syllabi xD

Awesome, do that buddy. Have you sent in your supporting credentials (transcript, high school transcript etc.)?

Hello guys, it is nice to find a place where we can share common ground of being transfer applicants! I am applying to Boston University as a transfer student for the fall 2014 semester. In high school, I did not have a set dream college, but I applied to approximately 26 schools in order to increase my chances. However, I did not really research them thoroughly. I just selected colleges on the basis of if they had the major I was going to declare and if it was in a 3-4 hour radius of my home. I take full responsibility for that, but this time around, I actually did my research. I currently attend the College of Mount Saint Vincent and I decided to transfer because that school is not the right fit for me in various categories. Boston University is my top choice and I am extremely nervous for my results. However, I like to look at the positive side of every situation.

I am confident about my application essay and the supplement we had to write.
I am worried about my high school GPA. It was a 3.4 on a 4.0 scale because I did not do well in tenth grade due to personal issues.
I am confident about my extracurricular activities because they relate to my passions, are intertwined to each other, and I invested an abundance of time on time. I did it for myself, not really to amaze colleges. However, that is an extra incentive!
I am confident about my college GPA. It is a 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, but it will probably be higher by the end of this spring semester. I am expecting to have 25 credits at the end of the year because I decided to transfer as an incoming sophomore.
I am confident about my SAT scores because although they were not stupendous, I decided not to send them in.
Good luck everybody! I am glad to read about your stories and hope that everyone here gets an acceptance letter!

P.S: If you do not mind sharing, why did you guys want to transfer?

Hey CCtransfer212, I didn’t get a chance to call them haha. Midterms all day, I will call them tomorrow and tell you the news. Yep I sent in everything else except the course syllabi.

And welcome to the post Angeliquita! For the why I think mine focused entirely on my major and the professors who teach it and some stuff about campus life. (Coming from a City college especially xD)

So I called undergrad admission at bu and they said the class syllabi is more for our benefit than for theirs, in that if we turn it in earlier and if we are accepted they will be able to accurately gauge how many of our units will transfer. If we turn the syllabi in really late- and it hits the deadline for us to make a decision (assuming we got in) we might not be able to know how many units we will get credit for.
Also I did not know they needed the actual syllabus per class, I thought it was just the class description hah.

Hey guys! This is cool to have a thread regarding Fall 2014 transfers. I’m a freshmen currently…I applied early decision to my current school out of high school and have regretted that decision every since. My school is small and the professors baby you. I’m crossing my fingers I get into BU for the full college experience! First semester, I had a 3.62 GPA and this semester I expect around the same. I did a full season of D3 rowing and am in three clubs. My SATs were average, although it seems they don’t look at those. My high school GPA was a 95 weighted out of 100, and I was also very involved with athletics and clubs at that time(four years varsity rowing, two years of JV volleyball and 4 clubs).

How do you guys think my chances are? Good luck to everyone!

I’d say you have an awesome chance rower. You can teach me how to row if we both go to BU :]

Do anyone turn in the mid-term school report yet?

I turned in the mid-term report. They asked for it through the applicant link around the beginning of March, on the Admissions Status page. I turned it in a week later, and as of yesterday it says my application is complete. I’m applying as a business major.

I turned it in three weeks ago ish, but my mid-terms passed and spring break was a week ago for me, so my term in general is probably a week or two ahead of normal.

Hello everyone!

First of all, I would like to wish you guys good luck with your application progress! I hope that you get it

I’m not really sure if what I’m gonna say is going to be appropriate for this particular thread, but I feel as some of you could help me.

I’m currently a senior in high school. BU was my top choice; I have fell in love with the school last year and the classes it offered for the major tyears wanted. However, I got rejected. I think what broke my deal was my SAT score (really bad test-taker) and my lack of ECs; the rest were really good though.

I’m going to apply to BU again next year as a transfer student for Fall of 2015. I was wondering if I could exchange emails with some of you who get accepted to help out with the process?

^I’ll message you my email if I get accepted, :]

Thank you so much @Nostalgia14 :)

I was wondering, are you applying as a sophomore or junior?

Also, are any of you applying for financial aid? Do you know if applying for FA would drop the acceptance chance? How generous are they with their FA packets for transfer students?

@aprtnf967 I started classes in the spring of 13, so I’m like a first semester sophomore applying for second semester sophomore.

Hey y’all! I applied as a transfer student to BU from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I am moving to Boston this summer (my husband got a job there) and I applied to 4 schools. BU is my top choice, but I am so anxious/nervous to get my admissions decision. My applicant link profile is complete so I am just waiting on a decision at this point. My GPA from A&M is a 3.88 (4.0 scale) on 27 hours, and my GPA from a previous college I attended (Blinn College) was a 3.50 on 50 hours. HS GPA was 3.42, and I chose not to send my SAT scores since I graduated over 3 years ago it didn’t seem necessary. What do y’all think my chances are? Also - good luck to everyone else who applied!!
