BU Transfer Fall 2014

p.s. my college is based on 3 credits per course, so it is 5 classes per semester. @cctransfer212

Oh that’s great then @AGlovesBU. You have a pretty great chance. I have submitted everything except my midterm report. Hopefully I’ll be sending it today. I have a 3.7 GPA with 44 credits. Lets see how it goes.

that is the same as me for the midterm report, i completely wasn’t aware that it was due before our decisions are made! sending it in today as well. what college within BU are you applying to?

@cctransfer212

I’m applying to CAS for Econ. What about you? @AGlovesBU.

CAS for Psychology. Good luck! what kind of extra curricular activities did you put down?

club founder and president, national honor society, volunteer work, and a job. what about you @AGlovesBU?

i feel like we are the same person right now haha! i’m the psychology club founder and president as well, honors classes at my college, volunteer work at soup kitchens in boston, ski club, and a job too! i think we both have a great chance of getting in! (i hope) what school do you go to now? @cctransfer212

Hahaha true @AGlovesBU. I go to northern Virginia Community College. You? And when do the decisions come out? Any word?

I have been receiving correspondence back about my syllabi I have sent them and different new things they require (for example, I had to send in an entire reading list for one of my classes) so I’m just waiting and wondering if I am actually accepted. Do you think they would evaluate credits if you weren’t?

I sent them some of my syllabi as well. I’m trying to get in touch with my past professors to get in touch of the syllabus copies. @AdoddProductions, I did not understand you question.

I am asking: do you think the BU office would evaluate credits of applicants they have not yet made a decision on (i.e. evaluate all transfer applicants’ credits instead of just the approved/accepted transfer applicants)?

@AdoddProductions, they recommend that we send them the syllabi as soon as we apply. They keep the syllabi on file until a decision has been made. Then they evaluate it… I’m guessing. Saves them time.

they evaluate your syllabi while they are in the process of making the decision. they require it before you are excepted because they want to see the type of course load you are taking so they can see if your GPA is relative to the course work. So, no, they didn’t make any decisions yet. People who were in the Read First group will find out within the next few weeks, if you didn’t get put on that list then you will find out mid april-beginning of may. @cctransfer212 @adoddproductions

Actually my friend who goes to BU now was asked for his syllabi after they told him of his acceptance, and even then they only requested a few classes to be sent in. (His experience alone)

They do not require syllabi before you are accepted.

My file is complete as of today! Really anxious!!!

@klgood Boston University asked me to submit syllabi on March 11, 11 days after I submit my application. So I think they may send part of students to submit syllabi before the decision. Randomly? Maybe.

Hello everyone. I got accepted last year (Fall 2013) into SMG and I thought I’d give you some pointers/advice. First of all, don’t get too stressed! I was stressed on this site too much. And try not to compare your stats with others because acceptances can be really random at times haha.

I went to 2 CC’s before BU
Units: 86 semester units
GPA: 3.55
HS GPA: 3.4
Took every Business-related course+the GE, elective courses
Active in Student Government, Honor Societies, Community Service Clubs, etc.
I think my essay was very well written (went through a college program). Might be the reason I got in.

If you have any questions (SMG or any other school) please message me and I’ll do my best to help!

@626transfer I am an SMG applicant, when did you here back last year?
