BU Transfer for 2009, any word?

Lucky… or fortunate! Either way, congrats. Cross your fingers for the rest of us :)

sunglasses, let us know what you got for financial aid. i’m curious how generous they are with financial aid to transfers.

i haven’t received any financial aid info (or an official acceptance packet yet). ugh.

just got my offer as well… but no info on fin aid or enrollment deposit deadlines. i guess you can tell by just logging in to the link… there are six new links on the page if you’ve been admitted.

I found out a few days ago I got rejected. I applied to the Communications school with a 3.4 college GPA. Oh well…

My Applicant Link still says that I’m missing my SAT scores. I’ve called 3 times to confirm that BU has received them… yet, the site says I’m still missing the scores! I hope this does not delay the decision process because I was assured it would not.

Hi, I don’t know if this is that kind of discussion so please don’t jump me if it isn’t. I am also waiting on my transfer decision from BU so I was just wondering if the accepted students could give their stats so I know if I’m in the ballpark. Thanks so much-

Just checked the Applicant Link this morning found out I was accepted into SMG for the fall 2009 semester!

Still no word yet on my end :(

I called BU yesterday and they’re now telling me all decisions will be released from now until mid June.

I’m applying to the SOE and I better not get the shaft

question - i have to accept my financial aid by today for BU, but the actual deposit isn’t due until june 1. since i’m not sure if i’m going there yet, should i accept the fin aid or no? i’m confused.

Your best bet is to call the financial aid office and see what they say.

ssunglasses: i had the same problem and then i called BU OFA and then they told me that the financial aid award is not binding. You have the option of accepting your financial aid award and then choosing not to attend.

BU can go ***** themselves. they’ve said my application has been complete for TWO months and today decided to notify me that they still need a college official’s report from the first school i attended, even though they told me that it would be fine if i just had one sent from the school i currently attend because I didn’t have an advisor at my last school. i am not going to wait another month to find out whether BU accepts me when all my other deadlines have passed. so, good luck to everyone else who is sticking around for a decision.

Bredding, the EXACT same thing happened to me. Have you tried speaking with someone who holds a little more weight in the admissions office? Students often answer the phone so you might want to speak with someone in charge and explain your situation. They may agree to extend the deadline for you given the mistake on their end. I know it’s frustrating but if it gets you in, it’s worth it… is it not?

Can any of the accepted students say whether their financial aid was good or not? That will make or break it for me. Thanks so much-

financial aid was not that bad… however, for me, the award was good only if you consider the total cost of attendance to be the one stated by the Office of Financial Assistance. When I went to the Student Accounting site, I found out other HIDDEN COSTS, including health insurance, sports pass fee, ResNet fee, orientation fee, and the housing guarantee fee, which is replaced by the enrollment deposit for the entrance year at BU.

and the housing guarantee fee was not even stated in the website… i found it out after making a number of phone calls to the offices of financial assistance, housing and student accounting. I hope there aren’t any more hidden costs…

has anyone else who applied to the SOE heard anything yet?

stilll waiting…
